Simple Sweater Workshop

We have the date for our Sweater Workshop!

This will be a four day workshop starting at the end of this month.

In this workshop you will learn about basic machine knitting care and operation. We'll show you how to get started and knit plain jersey/stockinette, shape knitted fabric, link pieces, learn how to create trims and finishes, knit a tension swatch, save your work, knit a simple sweater and more!

Seats are limited, so please make sure to sign up early to reserve a machine.

Day 1

-Introduction to the knitting machine, parts, functions, and maintenance.

-Learn how to cast on, knit a swatch, pick up dropped stitched, change needles, cast off, and steam knitted fabric.

-Increase and Decrease with the machine.

Day 2

-Create a rolled hem

-Shape necklines

-Link pieces together

-Trims and Finishing

Day 3

-Choosing yarn suitable for the machine

-Create a tension swatch

-Sweater sizing

-How to use waste yarn and stitch holders

-Start knitting sweater (sleeves)

Day 4

-Continue knitting sweater (front and back)

-Finishing

-Steaming and blocking
