Machine Knit Lace

Lace knitting has never been easier with lace carriages for knitting machines. The lace carriage works with punch cards, which have patterns that are read with the machine. Needles are selected to either knit or transfer stitches automatically as you move the carriage from right to left. There are two different settings to choose from for select punch cards, either fashion lace or plain lace.

We made a short video demonstrating plain lace with the Studio Mod. 700 Knitting Machine and the LC 2 Lace Carriage with lace weight yarn. Shaping with increasing and decreasing can also be done to create shawls, and garments etc.

The Knitting Studio will offer Lace Knitting workshops later this year.
